Am așteptat cu drag întâlnirea specială a copiiilor de Crăciun. La ora 8 dimineața, strada era plină de copii gălăgioși ce se jucau în praf, murdari dar bucuroși… Pentru o vreme au uitat de foame și de sărăcia de acasă. Au dat năvală în curtea de la centru și au așteptat curioși ce avea să urmeze. Atenți la ce le spuneam, le-am împărtășit pe rând (malgași și români) adevăratul motiv al sărbătorii de Crăciun – Vestea cea bună. Dumnezeu L-a trimis pe Fiul Lui, pe Isus să se nască în chip miraculos… dintr-o fecioară! El este soluția Tatălui pentru păcatul și povara lumii.
Conduși în închinare prin colinde, glăscioare puternice de copii au răsunat spre cer… Inimi și minți simple dar atât de pline de sinceritate și bucurie.
La partea de craft a fost cel mai greu. Am vrut să facem îngerași care să le amintească mereu povestirea. Dar până atunci s-au adunat 200 de copii, veniți parcă din sălbăticie. Copiii cei noi nu știau ce înseamnă cuvântul rânduială. A aștepta… S-au călcat în picioare pentru a se asigura ca vor primi hârtii colorate și lipici pentru prețiosul obiect de decor și jucărie în același timp. Am lăsat îngerașul neterminat de teamă să nu se rănescă între ei.
La final i-am provocat cu un adevăr pe care sa îl aplice mai departe în viața lor. Isus este un cadou atât de special, pe care l-am primit fără a oferi nimic în schimb. Însă este singurul dar care poate aduce bucurie oferindu-l mai departe și mai departe… Bucurie celor ce Îl dau și celor ce Îl primesc. Darul ce are puterea de a binecuvânta oamenii aici pe pământ și pentru veșnicie. “Oferă mai departe cadoul. Dă-l mai departe pe Isus!”
În sfârșit a venit și momentul mult așteptat. De data aceasta s-au așezat după barieră (o bancă de lemn) și și-au luat toți bucuroși punguța cu cadoul și brioșa cea dulce. Ne-am rugat. I-am mulțumit Lui Dumnezeu pentru fiecare inimă de copil care a auzit astăzi vorbindu-se despre El. Știm că mai departe, El este cel ce face să crească sămânța și să aducă rod la vremea potrivită… (Alina Popa)
We were looking forward to meeting the children on Christmas. At 8 o’clock in the morning, the street was full of loud children playing in the dust, dirty but happy … For a while they forgot about hunger and poverty at home. They dug into the courtyard from the center and waited with great curiosity what is to follow. Paying attention to what I was saying, we shared in turn (Malagasy and Romanians) the real reason for the Christmas holiday – the good news. God sent His Son, Jesus to be born in a miraculous way … from a virgin! He is the Father’s solution to the sin and burden of the world.
Driven in worship by carols, powerful voices of children were lifted towards the sky … Simple hearts and minds but so full of sincerity and joy.
On the craft side it was the hardest. We wanted to make angels who would always remember their story. But until then, 200 children have gathered, as if they came from the wild. The new kids didn’t know what the word wait mean. They wanted to make sure they would get colored papers and glues for the precious object of decoration and toy at the same time. We left the angel unfinished for fear not to hurt each other.
In the end I challenged them with a truth to apply later in their lives. Jesus is such a special gift that we received without giving anything in return. But it is the only gift that can bring joy by giving it further and further … Joy to those who give it and those who receive it. The gift that has the power to bless people here on earth and for eternity. “Give the gift further. Give Jesus further on! ”
Finally, the long awaited moment came. This time they settled behind the barrier (a wooden bench) and all took their bag with the gift and the sweet muffin. We prayed. I thanked God for every heart of the child who heard today talking about Him. We know that he is the one who makes the seed grow and bring fruit at the right time … (Alina Popa)
